Elza Doyel, 72, life-long resident of the county, died at 4:10 a.m., Saturday at his home, 1410 West Wabash Avenue after an extended illness with heart trouble. Mr. Doyel was born on September 3, 1868, the son of Allen and Jane Doyel and in 1893 he was married to Cynthia V. Whiteacre, a resident of Iowa. For 21 years Mr. Doyel was in the employe [sic] of the Crabbe Reynolds Taylor company as a millwright. He at one time served on the police force of this city. Earlier in his life he was prominently connected with several lodges and fraternal groups of Crawfordsville. In recent years he had engaged in farming, near Linnsburg, moving back to this city to reside a little over a year ago. He is survived by his wife and one son., Lee C. Doyel, of Crawfordsville. Christian Science services will be read at the family home, 1410 west Wabash avenue at 2:30 o'clock Monday afternoon, with burial in the Wesley cemetery. - kbz
